Dear list members,
Following the EGU special session ("Rifting, assembly, and collisional processes in the Caledonides: the first step on the way to Pangea”) in April, the Geological Society of London have agreed to publish a Special Publication on this topic. The title of the volume is: ‘New perspectives on the Caledonides of Scandinavia and related areas’ and we anticipate that it will provide a good overview of recent research and new concepts in the Caledonides. Based on the preliminary list of over 20 proposed papers, the volume will be centered principally on the Scandinavian Caledonides but we welcome contributions that help to integrate these elements with the rest of the orogen in the Caledonides of Britain and Ireland and the Appalachians.
The editors of the volume are Fernando Corfu, Deta Gasser and David Chew and the deadline for submission is November 30th, 2012. Any authors who are interested in submitting a paper are asked to email Fernando Corfu ([log in to unmask]) with a proposed title.
