Hi Gemmers
I am looking for some experienced, costumed interpreters based in the South East to play the part of historic characters as part of the exciting launch weekend
events for the Beaney Art Museum and Library in Canterbury on the weekend of 8 and 9 September 2012.
The characters we are looking for are:
19th century animal and landscape artist Thomas Sidney Cooper
Sat/stood at an easel talking about his life and work, including talking about paintings of his displayed nearby. NB You don’t need to be able to paint!
Geoffrey Chaucer or a character from the Canterbury Tales such as the Wife of Bath
Talking about their pilgrimage to Canterbury and recounting their tale.
A well to do Roman Lady
The gold bracelet of a well to do Roman Lady was found by archaeologists during the recent extension of the museum/library building. An interpreter is required
to play her part, to talk about her life in Roman Canterbury, and to explain how she lost the bracelet!
Interpreters should have own costume and public liability insurance. Payment to include travel.
We will provide full background info on each character.
If you can recommend anyone, or if you fit the bill yourself please get in touch, including CV or outlining experience/recommendations and how much you would
charge.
Best wishes
Martin
