Dear all

A report by the Institute of Health Equity at UCL, commissioned by 4Children, has been published which provides a set of outcomes around child development which it suggests Children Centres could use to plan and evaluate impact. Unlike the EYFS framework, the IHE framework places as much if not more emphasis on parenting and parental well-being. This is useful for our sector if we are seeking to work with Children's Centres or other pre-school settings, since a key strength of museums is in engaging families as a whole rather than just pre-school children. The evaluation study that I completed recently with the Museum of London demonstrated that the programmes there had significant impacts on family adults as well as development of children under 2 in the key areas highlighted by the UCL report.

Nursery World have an article that gives a brief overview.
