Following Dr. Cloke's example of submitting videos of 'dancing the urban' on two wheels, I submit two very different videos: Danny Macaskill's exploration of a post-industrial landscape <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShbC5yVqOdI>and a promo video for videographer Lucas Brunelle's DVD on alleycat racing<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShbC5yVqOdI>. Can't say I endorse the latter's glorification of selfish and dangerous cycling but there is some very exciting footage. The Macaskill video is very different in tone, and quite beautiful (in my opinion). -- Brian Stromberg Edward J Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey [log in to unmask] On Wed, Jul 25, 2012 at 11:21 AM, Jonathan Cloke <[log in to unmask]>wrote: > These stretch the definition of dance, but I challenge anyone to watch > this Parkour (freerunning) video and this BMX freestyling one and say this > isn't dancing the urban... > > Damien Walters 2011 official showreal > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQgFxDSqft4&feature=fvwrel > > > Aaron Ross BMX FreeStyle > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6bo4zBPeWM > > > Dr Jon Cloke > LCEDN/MEGS Research Associate > Geography Department > Loughborough University > Loughborough LE11 3TU > > Office: 01509 228193 > Mob: 07984 813681
