Hi
Gave a talk in Sweden (See that identity work there!) last year about
systemic therapy & practice and people with Intellectual Disabilities.
Seemed that this was not really employed in habilitation (generic
disability services inc. ID) - mostly CBT and psychodynamic - the
response was very positive however amongst clinical psychologists
working in habilitation and it seemed to me to have a closer fit with
what they were already doing in their community work than CBT's fixing
of irrational disabled people.
Cheers
Mark

An interesting snippet her about the Swedish experience of investing in
a highly medicalised narrative about mental health care and attendant
increase in CBT training. It’s particularly interesting how the model
has begun to break down.
