0.2fte Paper Conservation Project Assistant: Bernard Leach Archive

Part Time Post: 7.25 hours per week

The University for the Creative Arts has campuses at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester and is home to 7,000 students from over 70 countries studying on courses in fashion, graphics, design, media, fine art and architecture.

The Crafts Study Centre, University for the Creative Arts, is seeking to appoint a qualified paper conservator to assist in upgrading the standard of care of its Bernard Leach Archive. The post would suit a newly-qualified conservator seeking experience in a museum environment and in the delivery of conservation projects. The Archive contains some 15,000 items covering the life and work of this internationally important potter. It includes a broad range of materials ranging from diaries, photographs and manuscripts to the business records of the Leach Pottery, St Ives. A meticulous approach to remounting and storing this material to the highest standards is required.
