Job Description
The South West Film & Television Archive (SWFTA) was founded in 1993 when the TSW regional television franchise came to an end. The TSW TV collection of film and video material, its equipment and the holdings of its predecessor, Westward TV then became the basis of the initial archive collection. Together with amateur, corporate and other film material related to the region, these collections form one of the largest regional film and television archives in England. Altogether, the archive holds some 65,000 films and videotapes from the 1920s to the 1990s.  The archive aims to preserve and disseminate its large and growing collection of films and video tapes on all aspects of life in the South West region.
The archive has recently completed a major refurbishment and restructuring and now seeks to recruit a Collections Manager to lead the archive's outreach and collections management activity.  The post holder will lead the daily operation of the archive, ongoing projects and the development of funding bids. He/she will work closely with staff at the Plymouth and West Devon Record Office and the Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery.
Required Skills
We are seeking candidates with relevant film, television or archive sector experience.  The ability to lead and work as part of a team, presentation skills and experience of cataloguing and digitisation will be important.  Experience of managing budgets will be valuable.

Job Description

The archive has recently completed a major refurbishment and restructuring and now seeks to recruit a Technician to provide specialist technical support and operation as required.  You will operate the broadcast telecine machine, video recorders, digitisation, editing and digital storage equipment.  He/she will work closely with staff at the Plymouth and West Devon Record Office and the Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery.
The post is offered part-time for 3 days per week.
Required Skills
We are seeking candidates with experience of using broadcast telecine and video equipment, digitisation systems, editing and digital storage systems.  Experience of training others in the use of the equipment would be advantageous.
