Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better
buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its
members. With a passion to promote a wider public appetite and interest
in architecture through its website, exhibitions, talks and four
million-strong collections, the RIBA has led the profession since its
foundation in 1834, and continues to lead as architects face the
challenges of the 21st century.

Established in 1834, the British Architectural Library (BAL) is one of
the world's preeminent collections for research and information on all
aspects of architecture and the largest of its kind in Europe. Around
3.2 million items dating from 1478, including photographs, drawings,
archives, books and manuscripts, are available to the public through our
study rooms at 66 Portland Place and at the V&A in South Kensington,
home of the V&A+RIBA Partnership.

The BAL is embarking upon an exciting and transformative review of its
services and is seeking to recruit to this newly-created role, a
talented individual with the vision and commitment to lead the
development and delivery of the Library's 2012-2016 digital strategy.

You will have a proven record of staff and service management ideally
with some experience of income-generation, along with a demonstrated
ability to innovate and to inspire colleagues, users and other key
stakeholders. You should also have experience of managing a broad range
of collection types and of using ICT to manage and provide access to
these. This senior post will take responsibility for three core areas of
BAL activity:

* Development, management and provision of relevant, up-to-date and
user-friendly, digital services, both on-site and via the RIBA website,
www.architecture.com <http://www.architecture.com/> ;

remote information services at Portland Place, and
