Thanks to everybody who has done my homework for me. As one able Exceller put it:
"If you understand the VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH & OFFSET functions in Excel, then data manipulation becomes so much easier to do in Excel. "

Problem: How to use Excel to calculate the nth percentile.

The main problem is how to find which group the percentile is in. (The only Excel formula I have is itertaive & tortuous with lots of IFs - there must be a simpler way of doing it.)
