This workshop is designed to develop and establish networks and
relationships between educators involved in the delivery of aspects of
the creative curriculum.

The focus of the seminars will be collaborative relationships and will
reference the findings of projects, research papers and presentations
on, or produced as the result of collaborative practice published by
members of the North West Network of the former Art, Design and Media
subject centre (NWN). Barbara Thomas, who convened the network, has
agreed to speak on the following collaborative projects and
publications:

2007 - Linking disciplinary research to teaching

k>

2009 The 3E's Project - student expectations, experiences and encounters
with HE and staff perceptions
<http://www.adm.heacademy.ac.uk/projects/adm-hea-projects/the-3Es-projec
t-student-expectations-experiences-and-encounters-with-he/>

2011 Developing and Maintaining Collaborative Communities of Practice in
Art, Design and Media: The North West Network Experience, Fernie-Clarke,
J and Thomas, B (2010), educationalfutures Journal
<http://www.educationstudies.org.uk/journal/>

The seminar will give delegates the opportunity to establish a new
broader evidence-based research network for subject specialists and, as
the result of sharing NWN activity, will demonstrate results of and
potential for:

* Collaboration outside of a silo situation

* Further ideas for collaboration in Art, Design and Media

* The encouragement of collaboration and its importance in the
contemporary economic climate

* The strength of a mixed-economy consortia
