Dear
all,
Approval to
post this information has been given by Anne.
I thought
JISC subscribers should know of an orgainsation offering FREE TRAINING which
will boost health promotion skills and add to CPD portfolios.
Please note that I have no involvement with this organisation other
than as a course attendee.
Etal Training
offer a number of courses fully funded by the NHS. Of the 40 places on
offer yesterday for Motivational Interviewing training in Bradford, only 20
seats were filled. I am sure you will agree with me that this is such a
waste of resources. The tutors do.
To help fill
future seats (remember this is free), they would like to see more OH
practitioners on their courses. They see us an ideal platform for use of their
(free) Motivational Interviewing in particular. I do not work in the
NHS yet was welcomed with open arms.
Motivational
Interviewing training is only one of a number of free courses offered, at a
national level, to health care practitioners across all disciplines (one
attendee yesterday was a visiting pharmacist, another was a GP).
Some of you
may already have had contact with or know of Jan Procter-King who runs the
courses. She is
also editor-in-chief for the well established and very successful British
Journal of Primary Care Nursing for cardiovascular disease diabetes and kidney
care.
Course
details can be found on http://etaltraining.businesscatalyst.com/index-1.html.
Take two minutes to have a
look...it is worthwhile.
Happy
training...
Ed
