Hello,
The pre-prepared plastazote
cubes Jenny refers to are Rampak which is supplied by Ramplas http://www.ramplas.com/pages/rampak.asp
I used some recently and found
it really easy to use as you simply pop the squares out the match the size of
the object. It is more expensive than standard plastastazote but in my opinion
well worth it. I heard about it first at a seminar at Manchester Museum as they
use it to line the drawers in which they store some of their small archaeology items.

Hello,
I
remember seeing plastazote pre-prepared into cubes at an MA seminar once.
Kind of hard to describe, but you could just tear off squares - much quicker
and safer than knives. If I remember rightly, they had to introduce it
because someone had cut themselves trying to cut up plastazote in a previous seminar!
Can't remember who supplied it though.

Hi
Aaran,
We
use SJ gaskets as our suppliers for Plastazote.
http://sjginternational.com/sjghome.htm
Although
I’ve always been frustrated by the ragged edges when I try to cut a shape out
of the thicker plastazote. We’ve tried using a heated knife in the past to get
a really nice finish…but nearly set it on fire in the process and it didn’t
look any neater than if I’d cut it with a scapel!
If
anyone has any neat tricks for cutting shapes into Plastazote I’d love to hear
them J

Subject: [SHCG-LIST] Loan Boxes
Hello SHCG list,
We are putting some loan boxes together and want to make
sure the objects are safe in transit, but also very easy to put back in the
correct place.
Does anyone know of a supplier for that thick foam we could
cut the shape of the objects out of to ensure they fit snugly into place?
I think the SHCG Object Lesson boxes have this in it don’t
they?
Or does anyone have any better ideas?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Arran
