It is more expensive than standard plastastazote but in my opinion well worth it. I heard about it first at a seminar at Manchester Museum as they use it to line the drawers in which they store some of their small archaeology items. Kind of hard to describe, but you could just tear off squares - much quicker and safer than knives. If I remember rightly, they had to introduce it because someone had cut themselves trying to cut up plastazote in a previous seminar! Can't remember who supplied it though. We’ve tried using a heated knife in the past to get a really nice finish…but nearly set it on fire in the process and it didn’t look any neater than if I’d cut it with a scapel! Does anyone know of a supplier for that thick foam we could cut the shape of the objects out of to ensure they fit snugly into place? I think the SHCG Object Lesson boxes have this in it don’t they? Or does anyone have any better ideas? Any help would be appreciated!
