The Society for Medieval Archaeology Student Colloquium 2012 CALL FOR PAPERS The first call for papers is now open for the Society of Medieval Archaeology Student Colloquium, to be held at Cardiff University, 8-9th November 2012. The event aims to provide a platform for postgraduates and early career professionals to present and discuss their current research. Papers from across the medieval period (5th-16th centuries AD) and from all geographical areas are welcomed. Papers from subjects other than archaeology, but which have a broader medieval significance, will also be considered. Abstracts for posters are also encouraged. Abstracts should be written concisely in English (no more than 150 words) and submitted on the attached abstract submission form. Please note that papers will be 20 minutes in length with a 10 minute discussion for each session. Presentations will be restricted to postgraduates and early career researchers but we welcome posters from all medievalists. Nod y digwyddiad yw rhoi llwyfan i uwchraddedigion a gweithwyr proffesiynol ar ddechrau eu gyrfa i gyflwyno a thrafod eu hymchwil presennol. Croesewir papurau o’r holl gyfnod canol oesol (5ed-16eg ganrif OC) ac o bob ardal ddaearyddol. Rhoddir ystyriaeth i bapurau o bynciau eraill heblaw am archeoleg, ond sydd ag arwyddocâd canoloesol ehangach. Anogir crynodebau ar gyfer posteri. Dylid ysgrifennu crynodebau yn gryno mewn Saesneg (dim mwy na 150 gair) a’u cyflwyno ar y ffurflen atodedig. Noder y bydd papurau yn cael eu cyfyngu i 20 munud o hyd, gyda 10 munud ychwanegol o drafodaeth ar gyfer pob sesiwn. Cyfyngir cyflwyniadau papur i ôl-raddedigion a gweithwyr proffesiynol ar ddechrau eu gyrfa, ond fe groesawn bosteri gan bob un sy’n ymddiddori ym maes yr Oesoedd Canol.
