HI Mark,

It seems the DNS time was set at 48 hours and the changes were put in ~40 hours ago so I suspect we just got unlucky. In any case, it seems things are starting to right themselves now (CE in RAL BDII and FTS transfers working again). I'll keep an eye on it...

Thanks,

Mark

I would speak to your local University network team as they may have the direct technical answer for the propagation of the new routes into JANET.
I can ask Rob Evans from JANET if he knows what the timers are.

Mark

Hi All,

Yesterday I completed the shift over of the Bham site to a new subnet
(required to get a 10Gb link to JANET) and all services seem to be
working and we're running jobs. However, the RAL BDII/WMS seems to be
taking a while to propagate the change as we've currently got alarms in
Nagios that our CE (epgr02) isn't available (Broker Helper: No
compatible resources). Interestingly, the SE is fine though and a ldap
search on our BDII reveals the appropriate entries.

Is there any way to speed up the propogation of these new IP addresses?

Thanks!

Mark
