Lab in a Lorry is an interactive mobile physics laboratory which gives young people (11 – 14 year olds) the opportunity to do hands-on physics experiments whilst being guided by our volunteers who are practising scientists and engineers from industry and academia.   www.labinalorry.org.uk

 

This post is based in Scotland and involves significant travel around the country (less than 10,000 miles/year).  When not out on the lorry, the post holder will work from home.

 

Due to the nature of the project, annual leave will need to be taken during school holidays, apart from in exceptional circumstances.  Some weekend working may be necessary and time off in lieu will be given.

 

The ideal candidate will have degree or equivalent in a physical science subject together with excellent communication and teamworking skills.  They should be able to enthuse others about physics and have demonstrable hands-on science experience.  The role will require and Enhanced CRB Disclosure.

Salary is up to £24,000-25500 per annum plus excellent benefits.
