I have just finished a project with Plymouth on Adult Returners - arguably
those 'not clever enough' first time round - though this project shows
exactly how wrong that label is. Just because you don't clear the A level
hurdle doesn't mean you can't make it.

Many mature students get first class degrees from first class
institutions. http://www.hestem-sw.org.uk/project?id=44&pp=368 There are a
mixture of men and women showing that retuning to education and a STEM
career is an issue of interest to many and as the 24 stories tell, in as
many different reasons and experiences.

Follow up work by Tracey Sweet from South Devon College is producing some
materials and exercises on how to use these videos for awareness and
training.

We'll post links when ready but do let your HE widening participation and
diversity office know of the link!

Cheers
