A busy bustling bench -seems like on in Raynes Park -----Original Message----- From: Poetryetc: poetry and poetics [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Lawrence Upton Sent: 20 June 2012 12:24 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Snap: Bench and environs A short man rolls upon a public bench, yelling at his mobile phone (And why? Why!) with nasty vehemence. His boots dirty the two seats to the left of the loud head. Behind, a non-acquaintance listens in, lifting its copious ear pieces outward, and sneering; yet looking apprehensive. a man and woman kiss and giggle, closing. Others affect glitter-eyed nonchalance. A pigeon surveys lumps of broken sandwich in locations between shoes -- most dangerous if one is quite small without much lexicon. ----- Lawrence Upton Visiting Fellow, Music Dept, Goldsmiths, University of London New Cross, London SE14 6NW ----
