June 12 & 13 10am -2pm	Planning an Event	Mel Squire	Cardiff Story Museum, Cardiff, CF10 1BH	This session involved looking at the planning, staging and evaluating of an event, including publicity, resources and costs. This course is a great introduction to studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
19^th June 10am – 3pm	Networking for Creatives	Melaneia Warwick	National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, SA1 3RD	Networking is not just about giving out lots of business cards and attending lots of networking meetings. It’s much more interesting than that! The definition and application of networking has grown: face-to-face networking, online networking, unplanned networking (it’s what you do every day!). In this one day workshop we will explore what networking is and how you can use it to grow your business. The focus will be on fun and engaging exercises that make use of your creative skills. You will go away with some extra networking tools and an increase in your confidence to be able to use them.
June 20 9:30am – 3pm	Introduction to Unions & Employment Rights in the Creative Industries	Sian Gale	Bute History and Arts Centre, Cardiff, CF10 5AG	An interactive session held in a friendly environment to provide those who are already working in the creative industries on a voluntary or paid basis or aspire to do so with an overview of the key support and employment related organisations in Wales and to explore employment issues that they need to consider in order to survive and thrive in this highly competitive global sector. (handouts and other materials included) · Introductions and overview of the session · Knowledge, perceptions and expectations of the industry · Trade Unions, Trade Associations and other Relevant Organisations
27^th June 10am – 3pm	Planning your Exhibition	Melaneia Warwick	St. David’s Hall, Cardiff, CF10 1AH	So you have made or are planning to make a body of artworks. Perhaps you are struggling to get the work ‘out there’ so that it can be seen and even bought! This is not an uncommon problem for artists and makers and often work can end up sitting on our studio floors. The ways in which we can exhibit our artworks is growing and this offers a positive range of solutions. The focus of this one day course will be on unravelling the mystery of exhibiting your work by looking at the ever growing possibilities for doing so. You will develop insights and take away some tools for ways forward. Come prepared to join in on this fun, active and focussed workshop. If you have any images of your artworks, bring those along too.
June 29^th 9:30am – 3pm	Arts & Sponsorship	Yvette Kemble	The Riverfront, Newport, NP20 1HG	The Arts & Sponsorship workshop is specifically designed to raise understanding of sponsorship and give practical guidance to arts organisations on how best to go about obtaining and developing it. This one day workshop is aimed at those who have no sponsorship experience as well as those who wish to refresh themselves of the fundamental principles and practice of this important area.
