The British Library and the Library of Congress have announced their intention to implement RDA (Resource Description and Access) in the first quarter of 2013. Are you responsible for cataloguing in a library with significant art collections? Are you considering whether to adopt RDA or are involved with RDA planning, implementation and training in your institution? Would it be useful to investigate how others have made/are making the decision to adopt RDA and to consider the implications of not adopting RDA in the near future? If you have decided to adopt RDA, would it be beneficial to discuss implementation plans, questions and concerns with other people in the same position?  If so, the ARLIS cataloguing and classification committee invite you to an informal meeting to discuss RDA planning, training and implementation.  Attendees from institutions contemplating whether to adopt RDA or not are equally as welcome as those who have already made their decision.  The agenda will be informal with a few questions to begin discussion, but the discussion will be formed by the input of all attendees sharing ideas and brainstorming issues. All discussions will be confidential.

This event is limited to staff from ARLIS institutional member organisations.  In addition, the committee may limit the meeting to one-representative-per-library if demand is high.
