Dear all,

Some of you may be interested in getting involved in this campaign:

The Natural History Museum (London) has confirmed that it plans to host the official Farnborough Reception on Monday 9th July. Arms dealers will enjoy cocktails in the shadow of the Museum's famous Diplodocus.

Farnborough is best known for its air show - but its real business is a five day arms fair.
And, in the words of the organisers, this reception is "THE most important event during the Farnborough week, exclusively attended by key industry senior level figures, international delegations and exhibitors … a must attend event and an unparalleled networking opportunity."

In 2010 international delegations included Libya, Bahrain, Algeria, China and Saudi Arabia. Government officials were on hand to guide weapons buyers from Libya around the fair and even arranged for Ministers and the Duke of York to join the sales effort. Just 7 months later the UK was condemning Libya for the murder of civilian protesters and preparing for missile strikes.

Please join me in asking the Natural History Museum not to support the promotion of arms sales to human rights abusers, by emailing the Museum's Director today: http://act.caat.org.uk/lobby/63
