The successful candidate will be employed within a project funded by the Cooperative Research Centre for Optimising Resource Extraction (CRC ORE, see www.crcore.org.au<http://www.crcore.org.au>). The project will deliver better valuation methods for mining projects through improved efficient use of very large geological and geo-metallurgical data sets. The researcher will construct sophisticated statistical models for three-dimensional geo-metallurgical data and design rapid computational sampling schemes for such data.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be based in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia, and will collaborate with researchers at the University of Queensland, the University of Tasmania, and CRC-ORE industrial partners, especially the Quantitative Group and BHP Billiton.
