This opportunity for a highly numerical and analytical graduate economist is not to be missed if you want to enter the energy profession as part of a fast paced dynamic team, working alongside other talented, analytical professionals. You will be using the self starting passion of an entrepreneur together with the diligence of an academic to apply your economic and /or operational research skills gained via energy internships and or university, to the provision of transaction advisory services for multi billion dollar deals in the power markets arena. Essentially you will be providing clients with the quantitative data analysis that will inform their investment decisions.

Applying micro economic theory and analysis you will be involved in:-
•	Company evaluations using Net Present Value, discounted cash flows and other methods to appraise investment opportunities
•	Building models that forecast demand in various power markets to assist in retail strategy planning
•	Modelling to produce long range price forecasts for power market commodities – such as gas, electricity, coal and C02
•	Applying economic modelling for the purpose of providing financial due diligence in support of transactions
•	Desk research, data gathering and data analysis, for the same
•	All aspects of economic consultancy from initial client liaison to understand the issues, through to presentation of final results to the client
•	Contributing to the writing of reports for publication
•	Risk calculations to advise on hedging strategies

You should apply immediately if you have following characteristics:-
•	Highly intelligent; graduated with upwards of a 2.1, in a degree subject containing a substantial amount of economics / econometrics and or Operational Research. Candidates can seriously enhance their chances with a good Master’s (Distinction / Merit) or MBA
•	Strong knowledge of Excel and Excel Solver
•	Strong knowledge of verbal and written English such that you can produce client ready reports and or other publications in simple, clear and concise English
•	At least one other language in addition to English, ideally.
•	Together with the willingness and adaptability to travel, often outside Europe
•	Well tuned analysis and modelling skills as well as basic numerical agility
•	A strong willingness to be a team player and contributor; willing to morph into the “go to person” for a relevant specialism
•	Ability to own tasks – having the persistence to see a good job done ... and yet to deadlines

Salary: Negotiable up to 35K depending upon qualification, skills and experience
