**APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING**

Dear list members,

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and Office for Public Management (OPM) recently completed a research report into the Benefits of Open Access to Scholarly Research for Voluntary and Charitable Sector Organisations, published today by the Open Access Implementation Group (OAIG).

The report make it clear that the voluntary sector would experience direct and indirect benefits from increased access to UK higher education research publications and highlights that more Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations use OA than pay for subscriptions, despite the fact that subscription journals make up the vast majority of journals on offer.

For the press release from the OAIG, please follow the link: http://open-access.org.uk/news

With best wishes,

Ellie
