Hong Kong Guidance on the Use of Portable Storage Devices : HL Chronicle of Data Protection Late last year, the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (the "Commissioner") published a Guidance Note, titled "Guidance on the Use of Portable Storage Devices<http://www.pcpd.org.hk/english/publications/files/portable_storage_e.pdf>" (the "Guidance Note") to assist data users with properly handling and protecting personal data contained in portable storage devices ("PSDs"), including USB memory sticks, tablet/notebook computers, mobile/smart phones, personal digital assistants, portable hard drives and optical discs such as DVDs. The Guidance Note follows a number of well publicized incidents of loss of data stored on portable storage devices in Hong Kong, including the loss of USB memory sticks containing patients' medical records by doctors practicing at Hong Kong's United Christian Hospital back in April 2009. http://bit.ly/JTBQPT Source: http://www.hldataprotection.com/2012/05/articles/data-security-breaches/hong-kong-guidance-on-the-use-of-portable-storage-devices/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+ChronicleOfDataProtection+(HL+Chronicle+of+Data+Protection)&utm_content=Google+Reader See if people are clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/JTBQPT+ Try the bitly.com sidebar to see who is talking about a page on the web: http://bitly.com/pages/sidebar To view the list archives go to: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A0=RECORDS-MANAGEMENT-UK To unsubscribe from this list, send an email to [log in to unmask] with the words UNSUBSCRIBE RECORDS-MANAGEMENT-UK For any technical queries re JISC please email [log in to unmask] For any content based queries, please email [log in to unmask]
