Ottobock is currently recruiting science communicators who will make a difference to the experience of visitors, including children, adults, families, school groups, VIPs, media and Olympic and Paralympic business leaders,
at the Ottobock and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) London 2012 Passion for Paralympics Exhibition. You will be involved with engaging them in the interactive and multi-media exhibition at the following
locations:
April 11th - 12th Science Museum, London
April 17th – May 9th
Glasgow Science Centre
May 14th – 27th
Manchester, Arndale Centre
July 27th – Aug 12th
Westfield London
August 30th – Sept 9th Olympic Park, London
Commitment Required:
Those applying for a Science Communicator role must be
local to each of the locations. We would ideally like Communicators to work the full run in Manchester, specific days off may not be able to be guaranteed but we will work as best we can with your availability.
Staff will receive two days of science communication training and familiarisation with the exhibition. Training days are prior to and in addition to the exhibition dates above.
On behalf of Ottobock, Edinburgh International Science Festival are looking for outgoing people who are excellent communicators and enjoy working with people from 5yrs – 85yrs. Previous communication experience is
desirable but not essential; a knowledge and interest in healthcare, science, engineering or technology would be useful but not a requirement. The exhibition is designed to create excitement for the London 2012 Paralympic Games and will suit individuals with
experience or interest in sport, education and entertainment. Passion is key and an ability to work hard and retain your sense of humour is essential.

Will comprise of 13 interactive and multi-media installations designed to:
The
installations include wheelchairs, hand-cycles, prosthetics and dummies wearing prosthetics. It incorporates audio-visual, as well as touch-screen technology to give visitors a hands-on experience.

Pay Rates: Arndale Centre, Manchester
will be paid at a rate of £6.50p/h
