An opportunity now exists for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, well-organised individual with excellent management and people skills and a willingness to travel to take on the management of the programme as part of the portfolio of activities within the IET's Education 5-19 department. FIRST ®LEGO® League is an international competition for school students aged 9 to 16. Teams of up to 10 students use LEGO and LEGO Mindstorms kits to build and programme a robot to complete a challenge, they prepare a project around the annual theme and they have to demonstrate FIRST ®LEGO® League values. Teams prepare their entry during the autumn term to compete in a regional heat. The winners of the regional heats go through to the National Finals, the winners of which go to the World Finals in St. Louis, USA.
