Apologies....just saw the bit about having seen neurologists.....I'd check they were migraine specialists and would definitely look at stress and c spine tension as possible work place factors. And if he hasn't already he needs to start a migraine diary....the Trust also has these for download.

Carr

Hi Sue

As they are new how have they been diagnosed? GP? Family member? Self? Even if via GP he should ask for a referral to a migraine specialist...Migraine Trust have a list. As work seems to be a trigger then c spine tension and stress could be factors to look at? While waiting for specialist assessment physio could be an interim measure to identify and address any c spine muscle tension.

But as with all issues....until he has a full thorough medical assessment you are shooting in dark......

Carr

Hi folks,

I have a 58 year old senior scientist who recently has started to get migraines.  These occur at least once a week sometimes more, but he states it is the after effect that is impacting on his work.  He spends most of his time at a computer and has to attend lectures usually delivered by PowerPoint, which he thinks tend to be the trigger.  He does not get them when on annual leave, so clearly it seems to stem from something at work.

He has been seen by neurologists and has had a number of tests including an MRI which were all negative.

I am off later to do a workplace assessment, but if anyone has any information that might help I would be most grateful.

Many thanks

Sue
