We have used them with good success and I think it may depend on who ends up doing the assessment and the work visit. I have found that you MUST ensure that AtW do not come on site to see the employee's workplace without the manager being there to clearly explain what the employee is expected to do. This, to me is the key to ensuring a successful outcome.

I sat in on a mental health at work assessment and now the lady has a job coach which she wasn't going to get till I put my 2 cents worth into the discussion. Managers of dyslexics need to be there for the work site part so they get to understand the impact of the condition on work so that the difficulties can be worked around. Right2write did have an online quick assessment to see if you could be be dyslexic but if this girl already knows I would go to AtW. they often commison assessments so if you have a practitioner name you could save them some time.

You're right, certainly not competent to make such assessment. Hence asked her to get in touch with Access to Work. I have read that one can reuqest for a ''dyslexic specialist '' or perhaps psychologist to make the proper assessment and recommendations. Think she was diagnosed as dylexic when she was younger.

Did someone write that ATW not helpful?
