The Media, Communication and Performing Arts Division within the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management provides expertise in both research and teaching in the field of Media, Culture, Film, Public Relations and the Performing Arts. As a Professor you will make a significant contribution to REF 2014 which will consolidate and enhance the Division's reputation in Communication, Cultural and Media Studies. The post is open to applicants with a proven track record of research excellence in any aspect of culture, film, media and public relations; however we are particularly keen to make an appointment that contributes a critical and theoretical concern with media and culture industries, economies, policies, organisations or practices to any of those fields.

The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
