Yes, Zhang Laoshi's book is an excellent textbook to teach A level.
 
Except handing in the SoW to school, I usually give a guide to students, see attachment.

Xiaoming Zhang’s books are available on www.cypressbooks.com , please search for Xiaoming Zhang and you will see all her books. Both simplified and traditional character editions are available. We also provide preview function on the website.

Hi,
 
You can follow the textbook as SOW, e.g. Edexcel Chinese for AS/A2 or Chinese for AS/A2 (XiaoMing Zhang),
and work out the teaching plans and teaching notes depends on the students' progression and ability.
XiaoMing Zhang's books are very good for revision as well.
