Hi Victoria,

Even when submitting electronically we are mimicking the print portfolio but using bookmarks, print screen and links back to the statement to make the assessors’ job as straightforward as possible.

This means you wouldn’t be able to have the contact details of the Board members to let them view your wiki unless you make it an open space (which I completely understand why you’d rather not do). So for the time being you can explain what you’ve done in the wiki and do a print screen so the assessors can at least get an idea of what’s there and see your evaluation of how useful it’s been.

E-portfolios are being considered as part of the future CILIP qualifications framework. E-portfolio systems give the candidate a secure environment to upload information and the administrator can give named assessors access to the application so this is likely to address the issue in the future.

Good luck and best wishes

Michael

Subject: Re: Compiling an electronic portfolio submission from a wiki

Hi,

I've not many responses to my query (below).

Can anyone provide a CILIP perspective?  It would be useful to know if there are plans to accept wikis or other online platforms as Chartership submissions.

Thanks,

Victoria

Hi all,

Is anyone else using a wiki to prepare their Chartership submission?  I've found it really useful in helping me prepare the structure of my submission and keeping all my Chartership documentation in one place.  However, I'm a bit stuck as to how to actually submit my portfolio.  I want to make an electronic submission but obviously I can't just link to the wiki, so do I copy and paste all my content into a Word document and submit that?  I'd be really interested to hear how other people have approached this issue.

Also, I want to give the assessors access to my wiki so that they can view my reflective learning log and anything else they might be interested in.  It's a PBWorks wiki and currently it's a closed wiki so only myself and my mentor can view content.  In order to allow the assessors to view the wiki I'll need to either make it an open workspace and visible to anyone (which I don't really want to do), or grant the assessors access (but I'll need their names and email addresses in order to do this!!!).  Has anyone got any suggestions on the best way to approach this?

Thanks

Victoria
