Hi All,

So far this is the only suggestion of a 3rd railway coaling tower in the UK - Thanks Brian.

Hi Peter,

I recorded the coaling tower at Aberystwyth in 1996 just before it was demolished to make way, apparently, for a railway museum, which is still awaited. There is a record in the RCAHMW online database, Coflein, for it:

A similar one to the Aberystwyth tower stands and is in use at Didcot Railway Centre; I knew of the one at Carnforth but not the one in Immingham, so that makes a total of three; there are to my knowledge no others standing in the UK.

Brian.

(p.s. is it possible you could post this response on the HERFORUM as I don't have access? Thanks)
