NATIONAL TRUST, SWINDON

Vacancy: Conservation Information Officer
Part Time: 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £22,991 per annum pro rata (£13,795 per annum)

Here at the National Trust, we want even more people to enjoy our extraordinary places. We want people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved with them, be inspired by them, and love them as much as we do. That’s why we’ve put some bold ambitions in place. We want everyone in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to feel like a member of the National Trust and, by 2020, we want to have grown our membership to more than five million.

About you
Analytical and methodical, you have excellent attention to detail and love getting to grips with data. Ideally you will have experience in systems management and relational databases, and if you’ve worked with GIS, even better. You’re up-to-date with industry standards and processes and have a proven track record in a service delivery environment. Just as importantly, you’ll be confident and credible, with a commitment to customer service and the ability to get things done. You pride yourself on offering colleagues the insight and solutions that support their needs. You enjoy being part of a great team and working with a diverse range of people, from national consultancy teams to software suppliers. More important then IT, you’ll need to combine your business brain with your love of conservation.

About the role
We protect everything from bats to buildings to beaches – and we want to share them with everyone too. To make sure we can, we need our records and information, systems and databases to be open and accessible. And, as our Conservation Information Officer, you’ll play a hugely important part in this. Enthusiastic and hands-on, you’ll look after our conservation systems helpdesk and make sure it runs just as it should. Day-to-day, you’ll give in-depth, up-to-the-minute advice and guidance and be a helping hand for everyone right across the wider business. We’d also like you to make sure everyone who needs it is up-to-date with their training.

Additional Details
Do great things for us and we’ll do great things for you and your career. We’ll give you all the training, support and continued professional development you need, and we appreciate that work/life balance is important. You can also look forward to free admission to all our incredible places, and a helpful 20% off at our shops, cafes and restaurants. But they’re just the benefits we can tell you about here.
