Part-time Lecturer in Germanic Studies

Sabbatical leave cover (0.6FTE)

Salary: £23,487 - £27,779 per annum incl LW

1 year fixed term, available from 1 September 2012

 

Applications are invited for a part-time Lectureship in the Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies. 

 

The principal role of this post is to enhance and develop the Germanic side of the IGRS activities, including the academic programme of events and publication series.  You will assist with the editing of IGRS books series in German Studies and will represent Germanic studies on the IGRS books Editorial Board.  Whilst carrying out your own research, you will contribute to the research facilitation role of the Institute.  You will supervise postgraduate students and make a significant contribution to research training and the continued development of the Institute's electronic resources. 

 

You must have completed, or be completing, a doctorate, show a strong research potential in one or more areas of Germanic studies and be able to demonstrate a strong publications record.  Interest in interdisciplinary work and/or cultural memory or women’s writing or exile studies would be advantageous. 

 

This is a fixed term post, available from 1 September 2012 (or as soon as possible thereafter) until 31 July 2013 during a period of Sabbatical leave.
