The DAAD is sponsoring a new association of “Europäische Germanistenverbände”, which is meeting shortly in Berlin. We have all been asked to provide the information below for our territories. Jill Pye is doing this for Ireland, but can I ask colleagues in GB to provide me with answers for their institutions by Monday if possible? Presumably we can ignore Q4. Apologies for the short turnaround.

1. Wie viele Doktoranden in der Germanistik gibt es gegenwärtig in Ihrem Land? (geschätzt)

2. Wie viele Stellen in der germanistischen Forschung und Lehre werden im Land absehbar frei?

3. In welchen Teilgebieten promoviert der Nachwuchs?

4. In welchen Teilgebieten sind Habilitierte mit Promotionsrecht vorhanden? In welchen nicht?
