Research Associate

University of Cambridge, Department of Experimental Psychology
Salary: £27,578 - £35,938 pa
Applications are invited for a cognitive neuroscientist with strong imaging skills to work in the Neurolex Group, an interdisciplinary team led by Professor William Marslen-Wilson. The applicant will use neuro-imaging methods to investigate spoken language comprehension across several languages, with Modern Standard Arabic likely to be a particular focus.

The group has access to a research-dedicated 3T Siemens MR scanner and to an Elekta-Neuromag VectorView 304 channel MEG facility (with EEG). We currently use a variety of univariate and multivariate analyses on fMRI and MEG/EEG data-sets, with increasing emphasis on pattern-information analysis.

Applicants must have (or about to obtain) a PhD in the cognitive neurosciences (or related areas), in depth experience with fMRI analysis, and excellent statistical skills. Knowledge of multivariate methods is desirable. Given the nature of the research, we are interested in Arabic-speaking candidates, although this is not essential.
