Reminder: Powers of the False symposium, Institut Francais London May 18-19.
This two-day programme of screenings and panels addresses the complex ethics of the manipulation of real people and events in documentary, fact-fiction hybrid cinema and artists’ moving image. Inspired by philosopher Gilles Deleuze’s term, the symposium will bring together filmmakers and academic speakers to explore filmmaking as a coercive agency.
