We allow tutors to attend online exams in case there are issues with the content of the tests i.e. when there is no answer to a m/c test or something doesn’t make any sense at all so this can be accurately reported to the Board (ooh needless to say we’ve had this problem with Adult Literacy and Functional Skills!!!), but we always have independent invigilators administering and supervising the tests. Same as A Levels and GCSEs, we always have a subject lead there in case of issues with the exam papers and the invigilators are non teaching staff or teachers who teach a completely different subject.

On a similar thread what about motor vehicle who also do lots of on-line's. I ma being told by the head of programmes that they are 'assessments' and therefore don't require invigilation. City and Guilds are saying some do and some don't but can't give me a definitive list so I am a little concerned.
