ESOL Nexus Website Editor

12 month fixed term part time contract

£12,500 per annum plus London Market Allowance of £1,650 per annum if London based

The British Council is a world leader in cultural relations, building long-term relationships and trust between people in the UK and other countries, for mutual benefit. The programmes we use to do this are wide-ranging and cover the arts, education, English, science and society. We strive to be innovative, to ensure that we represent the best of the UK and are relevant to the needs of the thousands of people with whom we work around the world.  We operate in 238 cities in 110 countries and territories.

The British Council has been exploring ways in which it can provide support to teachers of English and migrants and refugees living in the UK. This is in accordance with our ongoing vision to support integration strategies and facilitate community links. The award of European Integration funding for the ESOL Nexus project has enabled us to create resources for teachers and migrants who have arrived from outside the EU and EEA. This post should be located in the UK, and will report to the Project Director. The postholder will work closely with other teams developing on-line English language products and with a team of ESOL resource specialists who are contracted on a freelance basis to develop materials for the site.

The post-holder will be responsible for setting up, developing and maintaining the ESOL Nexus web portal. The job holder will work in virtual teams, managed from the UK, and can be based in any location in the UK
