Dear members, We have had three excellent webinars recently from the JISC Curriculum Design programme<http://www.jisc.ac.uk/curriculumdesign> where some of the projects shared their approaches and findings. These are focused around four main areas: assessment and feedback, information skills, learner engagement and creativity in the curriculum. Each theme is underpinned by well-established pedagogical approaches and has been designed to help teams build ideas towards a more student-centred curriculum design model. They provide a series of simple, user-friendly reflective tools/prompts that promote a creative and effective approach to the curriculum design process and help them think about important stages for their students at different points on the learner timeline. This webinar will focus on Assessment and Feedback. The recording is available from http://bit.ly/jiscviewpoints11may12 Managing large-scale organisational change: lessons and approaches from the Curriculum Design programme Drawing on their experiences in the JISC Institutional Approaches to Curriculum Design programme and using examples from their own institutions, participants will present some high level but practical recommendations on how to go about large-scale change management projects in universities. The session will be chaired by consultant in e-learning Helen Beetham, who will be assisting the audience to put probing questions to the participants about the thinking behind their conclusions and the advice they would offer to others. Those taking part will be members of one of the clusters of institutions in the Curriculum Design Programme including Oliver Jenkins, Birmingham City University; Stephen Griffiths, Cardiff University; Pam Parker, City University London; Claire Eustance, Greenwich University, and Stephen Brown, the cluster's Critical Friend. The recording is available from http://bit.ly/Kj59eZ The role of coaching in enhancing the student experience: the student voice - PC3 project (Leeds Met University) The PC3 project at Leeds Metropolitan University has been exploring how coaching, both face-to-face and technology-supported, can support curriculum design, assessment, learning and teaching. As part of the project we have been running a student ambassador programme, in which students who have experienced the benefits of coaching have been investigating ways to promote it to their peers. In this webinar the project team will give an overview of their experiences of coaching and being coached and their proposals for embedding the process more firmly in the curriculum. The webinar will include evidence from the students themselves of the way that coaching has helped them in their learning and how they have made use of technology to support the coaching process.
