Subject: [data-protection] Cash Converters / Cash Shop etc

Hi,

Not sure I am hitting the Data Protection mark here but does anyone have a process on dealing with organisations such as The Cash Shop ringing up to check to see if a 'Council' cheque made payable to Mr Jones (who wishes to cash it at one of these place) has been 'stopped' or is still 'valid'.

Are we releasing personal data by saying 'yes' or 'no' to this question.

Thanks
Steve
