Following The Wedgwood Museum's success in the public vote to host Martin Parr for the Museums at Night inititiative, the museum would like to thank all that voted for us and hopes that subscribers of this list may be interested in the following event.

Museums at Night - Meet Martin Parr, the internationally famous photographer, at the Wedgwood Museum
Friday, 18th May 2012 at 7.00pm.

A unique opportunity to hear Martin Parr speak about his amazing career as a documentary photographer, photojournalist and photo book collector.

Martin Parr is famous for his photographic projects that take a critical look at aspects of modern life. He has an international reputation as a chronicler of our own age.

Martin will be speaking at the Wedgwood Museum, as part of the ‘Museums at Night’ programme, His illustrated talk is entitled, ‘Photobiography’ and is a must for everyone to hear.

The award winning Wedgwood Museum is a perfect venue as the history and development of photography in Britain starts with Tom Wedgwood (1771-1805), the third son of Josiah Wedgwood I, founder of the famous ceramic manufactory.


The doors of the museum will be open from 5.30pm to allow an opportunity to see the Museum galleries

Enjoy a complimentary drink whilst you relax prior to the lecture.

7.00 pm. Martin Parr will speak on, ‘Photobiography’ – his personal approach to photography and life.
Before and after the lecture there will be the chance to meet and speak informally to Martin Parr and enjoy the magnificent museum and its collections.


Admission by Ticket only. Tickets cost £5 each.
