Meet the Archivists: Unlocking the Research Potential of Business Archives - 9 November 2012, Glasgow

 

This workshop held at the Centre for Business History in Scotland brings together academics and archivists to discuss and explore with students how business archive collections can be used for their research.

Scotland’s businesses and industries have been crucial in shaping its economic and social development and they also reflect the contribution and breadth of activity that Scotland’s business, industry and enterprise has made, and continues to make, to the world economy.

 

We will demonstrate to you how these rich business archive collections can be used to investigate and research a variety of topics in different academic disciplines from economic, business, social, gender and labour histories, management studies and politics and industrial relations to sociology, linguistics and architecture.  For example:
