Departmental Lecturership in Statistics
Grade 7: Salary £29,249 - £35,938 p.a. with a discretionary range to £39,257 p.a.
Fixed Term Contract of 3 years' Duration

The Department of Statistics, University of Oxford propose to appoint a full-time Departmental Lecturer as soon as possible after 1st September 2012. This is a fixed-term contract of 3 years' from that starting date.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a doctorate or equivalent degree in Statistics or a relevant discipline and have experience and ability to teach core topics in mainstream and applied statistics at MSc level.

The Lecturer will have a keen interest in teaching and with exciting research potential. The principal duties of the post are to: provide teaching and supervision up to an average of 40 lectures per year or equivalent; act as an assessor or examiner; and supervise or co-supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects.

This is a temporary appointment with the objectives to make provision for teaching, and to develop and strengthen the research profile of the department.
