Hi Andrew, How many SLC related students do you have to manage? From: Ratajczak, Andrew [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: 01 May 2012 09:48 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Additional resources needed as a result of the new funding arrangements Dear Colleagues I previously sent this email, but some of you may not have noticed it - as it was at the end of the day! I'mI hoping to catch your attention this morning - so if you could respond I would be very grateful! In light of the future changes in HE funding and the introduction of new bursaries and scholarships (such as NSP), LSBU is undertaking a review of its staffing levels. Our current staffing levels are: * 1 x Student Loans Team Leader * 1 x Fees & Bursaries Team Leader (re-enrolment/data input) * 4 x Fees & Bursaries Officers * 1 x Assistant Officer The duties undertaken include: * Course changes * Enrolment * Bursary confirmations to HEBSS * Advice for students & applicants on fees, payments, Home/Overseas assessment * Re-enrolment & Data input * Student Finance/Liaison with SFE/SLC Our National Scholarship Program offering consists of discounts that we are applying to our headline fee, but it is expected that the existing team will administer all the resulting administrative work including offering information and advice on the programme, enrolling students, calculating the fee reductions that result, building/crediting and rebuilding fees and submitting change of circumstance notifications to SFE. The initial decisions on eligibility are being carried out by other staff. Request: We anticipate that there will be considerable additional work as a result of the new funding arrangements, administering the NSP and the introduction of the part time loan scheme. We'd be really grateful for any details you were willing to share on your staffing levels for similar work and whether you have successfully managed to bid for additional resources as a result of the changes coming into play for 12/13. Even if your current structure and responsibilities do not match ours if you have managed to bid for any extra resources for 12/13 for this type of work I'd be very grateful to hear from you. Please contact me offline if you'd prefer. I'm happy to share my findings with colleagues. Many thanks Andrew Ratajczak Fees, Bursaries & Central Enrolment London South Bank University 020 7815 6973 ============================================ Email has been scanned for spam and viruses by Altman Technologies' email management service <http://www.altman.co.uk/emailsystems/> The LSBU communications disclaimer can be found at http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/ict/legal/
