Scientific Communications Manager, Diamond Light Source

Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron science facility, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire. By accelerating electrons to near light-speed, Diamond generates brilliant beams of light from infra-red to X-rays which are used for academic and industry research and development across a range of scientific disciplines including structural biology, physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, earth and environmental sciences.

We are recruiting for a new post to deputise for the Head of Communications. The post holder will lead the planning and delivery of the publications programme for the institute as well as ensure the supervision of the delivery of the event programme, and in close collaboration with scientists and technical staff, develop bids and fundraising strategy for international scientific conferences and workshops.

The individual will lead and deliver communications programmes for scientific user community engagement in communications activities and implement an effective flow of information both within and outside the organisation.
