NESTA is dead. Long live NESTA . It did not fit in with the Cameroonian "bog society" model and had to go. In other stuff NESTA's been involved in they have argued for a broad interpretation of innovation. In the Innovation Research Initiative, for example, a definition they (and their partners) used was 'successful introduction of new services, products, processes, business models and ways of working'. I wonder if there's a a tendency for SF to reinforce the narrower, more conventional interpretation of innovation as the cause of novel artefacts - ray guns, flip-open communicators, robots, weird clothing - and so on.
