Hi Lynda
We too have considered using one to meet the service needs.
From personal previous experience, on the pro side, I found that they were very effective, provide a basic but professional work area. The audio booths are excellent as long as the trailer is parked away from direct external noise exposure.
On the negative side, the space is limited especially with eye testing procedures and general limb assessments. You do not need a driver who is capable of driving with an attached trailer or a LGV licence. And consideration needs to be given to where it will be stored/ adverse weather etc.
For all these considerations, the mobile unit definitely has great benefits but if I remember rightly were costly renting and buying.
I would be very interested in the costings if they become available.
Many thanks
Ruth
I am thinking of starting a venture that would require a mobile Occupational Health Unit fitted in particular with facilities for audiometry.
Before I start I wonder if you could share some information with me.
- Have you ever used a mobile OH unit and if so what are the pros and cons
- Is it better to buy or rent
- If renting who is the most likely supplier
I look forward as always to what always proves to be responses that are interesting ,informed and on occasion thought provoking
