Well, we're all post-Freudian now, but I was thinking that Caroline Bynum has shown that what seems obviously (if not merely) erotically charged to us may have been seen in much more complex ways in medieval cultures. I suspect Barker was influenced by Bynum's approach. At any rate, I thought it interesting. Good to see you back here, Henk. -- Paul
